Seeds of Growth

Seeds of Growth

Dear CMS Families and Friends,

As we enter into a new and exciting school year, I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you all important information about giving at CMS and why your participation is so critical to the success of our school.

CMS faces the ongoing challenge of keeping tuition as affordable as possible while maintaining high quality educational environments that bring authentic Montessori practices to every child on our campus. To help us in this quest, we have traditionally hosted two major giving campaigns during the school year – the Annual Giving Fund and the Oak Tree Auction Fundraiser, each of which are described more fully below. Since CMS is a non-profit tax-exempt organization, any donation to CMS is tax deductible. Many employers in our area will also match employee donations, which is a great bonus to your contribution! CMS also has many volunteer opportunities for those families for whom giving of time is more do-able than giving of money. Our website has more information on Parent Volunteer opportunities as does the weekly Tuesday email.

This fall’s Annual Giving campaign is focusing on “Seeds of Growth”. Annual Fund contributions this
year will help us improve our campus, both for the enjoyment of current students and with an eye to future growth. In the Spring, we host our annual Oak Tree auction fundraiser, which is always a great time! Families and friends come together for a great dinner and evening out, which includes opportunities to bid on marvelous art creations by our CMS students as well as other wonderful items donated by members of our community. In addition to these, we have smaller efforts that have more targeted goals. A Book Fair this fall will provide new books for our school library. Elementary students participating in the Montessori Model UN program fundraise to help offset expenses for their trip. Information about these activities is shared with families throughout the school year as events occur.

Today we are kicking off our 30 Days of Giving Annual fund campaign. While families and friends of CMS can make an Annual Fund donation at any time throughout the year, this month is when we will be promoting this campaign at school. We have a banner going up next week on the Pavilion by the circle drive and as donations come in, we’ll hang acorns along the Pavilion to celebrate the Seeds of Growth we are working together to cultivate. To donate now, please follow this Link.

Thank you to all of you who make our school the unique treasure that it is – our Board, our faculty andstaff, our parents and most especially our students. Together we can make our school stronger and even more awesome than it already is!

Sincerely,
Stephanie Sayre
Executive Director
