EXTENDED HOURS CARE
Extended Hours care is available for CMS students at all levels, both before and after school hours. Early care is offered from 7:15 – 8:00 and After school care is offered from 3 to 6 pm.
When families enroll at CMS, parents may elect to enroll in one or both programs. Additional fees for extended hours care are listed on the Tuition & Fee Schedule.
For students in the Nido and Casita environments, extended hours care is an extension of their daily routine and takes place in their classroom environment with familiar staff on hand.
Students at the Children’s House and Elementary levels go to an environment prepared for before and after school times, which is based on Montessori principles to ensure consistency throughout their day. While these environments don’t have Montessori materials or Guides, they are based on student choice of activity and individual responsibility as the children are accustomed to in their Montessori classrooms.
After school care environments offer an additional snack and recess time as well.
CMS offers after school Enrichments for students in Children’s House & Elementary classes. Sessions run 8 weeks in the fall and spring. Classes meet after school one day per week.
Class offerings vary by session and fill up quickly. Enrichments are open to current CMS students only.
Every year CMS hosts a Summer Camp for current CMS students, alumni children and elementary-aged siblings of current students. At the Nido and Casita levels, Camp is an extension of their school-year routine, taking place in the same classroom environments but with some additional fun like water play added in.
Children’s House students enjoy weekly themed activities, in-house “field trips” and splash days. Elementary students take it to the next level with weekly field trips on a bus!
Summer camp information is published each year in February with registration available February through May.
