Community Montessori School

Casita

Walking (12-15 months) - 36 months

Our Casita classrooms are nurturing environments thoughtfully prepared to appeal to young children. They include may familiar aspects of home while offering opportunities for social engagement, independent work, and exploration.

A Joyful Learning Community

The homey warmth of our Casita classrooms bring a sense of belonging, trust, and acceptance to our youngest students. Our trained staff support toddlers on their path to independence through language acquisition, hands-on activities and motor skill development.

The Prepared Environment

Lots of windows and natural light, low shelves, and toddler-size furnishings all contribute to a cozy, safe, organized space that encourages exploration and learning.

Outdoor Play

For toddlers, play is learning. Each of our Casita classrooms has its own backyard space for outdoor play. As with the indoor environment, the Casita outdoor spaces are designed to appeal to toddler-aged children.

“Help Me To Do It Myself”

Casita students engage in Practical Life activities that develop their coordination and confidence. Children learn to care for themselves by dressing independently and using the toilet.

Transitions

Casita students transition to the Children’s House between 2 1/2 and 3 years old. A classroom visit is arranged for the child and parents receive orientation materials in preparation for the transition.

The outdoor and independent playtime to let him just be him makes a world of difference. We love Community Montessori School, its teachers and the campus. It truly is our community.
