As we look ahead to Thanksgiving break, we want to take a minute and say thank you for the joy, support, and collaboration we experience on a daily basis at CMS with our staff, families, and of course with our students. We are grateful to be part of this wonderful community. Wishing you all a fun-filled break and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Visual Learning
One of the interesting things that Dr. Montessori understood about how humans learn best is summed up in the mantra "Show Instead of Tell". The beautiful materials that children use every day in the Montessori classroom epitomize this idea, by showing clear visual representations of concepts. But guides and staff use visual cues and systems to support learning in many different ways, from color coded activities to visual organizers. Here's some examples:

The All Ages play this last Saturday morning had great weather and a great turnout. What a nice opportunity to get to know your fellow CMS parents and students! If you couldn't make it, don't worry. Volunteers have agreed to host one in December (weather permitting).

This is offered by Montessori Services, a company CMS has used for years to supplement Montessori materials in our classrooms. They have great toys & items for families wanting to continue with Montessori style at home. Give our school number when you order & CMS receives credit we can use for classroom supplies.
